Imphal, July 08 2022: Laishram Rahul of Kwakeithel Akham Leikai has expressed keen desire for all students, particularly junior ones, to free themselves of all forms of tension and pressure while studying.

Laishram Rahul studied in Catholic School, Canchipur from Class I to Class X and he topped the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLCE) 2022 by scoring 586 marks.

His father Laishram Premkumar is a contract staff of National Health Mission and his mother Laishram (O) Sanahanbi is a Government Primary school teacher.

Rahul has a younger brother.

Since a very young age, Rahul was quite inquisitive and he used to ask his parents many questions about anything he found new.

Exulting on his spectacular achievement, Rahul said that he would like give credit for his success to his parents and teachers.

Following the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent prolonged lockdown, regular classes were replaced with online classes but the online classes were not effective enough, Rahul said.

"As such, I bought many reference books and worked very hard.

During the Covid-19 lockdown, I was also able to read different books of my choice at the time of my choice", he said.

"Had there been no Covid-19 lockdown, I might not have been able to read and study with a free mind thinking about school exams and tests conducted at tuition centres and the associated tension", Rahul confided.

"I did not have fixed hours for studying and there were days when I did not read any book or study any subject", he continued.

He said that he would continue higher studies in Manipur in Science stream before taking up the profession of teaching.

Observing that corruption is rampant in the State, the young student expressed keen desire to fight against corruption.

Tanishq stresses on dedication, focus

Tanishq Tongbram of Sagolband Tera Lukram Leirak who secured 2nd position in the HSLCE 2022 results declared today has made it clear that she would pursue higher studies under CBSE and would join Indian Foreign Service (IFS) after completing her studies.

Her father is a Havildar of Home Guard.

Tanishq said that she was both excited and happy on learning about her HSLCE result.

She said that there was no fixed hours for study but studied whenever she felt like.

Saying that she would study in Science stream in her next phase of education, Tanishq underscored dedication, focus and single-mindedness for one to excel in one's academic career.
