3 Lamlai Councillors join BJP

Imphal, October 07 2015:
Three councillors of Lamlai Municipal Council, one ward member, two active member of CPI, one member each of Trinamool Congress and Indian National Congress have joined the BJP State unit today.
At the same time, the convener of RTI Cell of BJP Manipur, Mongjam Poireihanba said the party will file a PIL seeking action against councillors concerned for misappropriating fund for construction of roads in areas under their respective jurisdictions.

The three councillors who joined the BJP today are former chairperson of Ward No 5, who was elected on MPP ticket, Ngangom Robin; Moirangthem Ranjit, elected on CPI ticket from Ward No 4 and Khaidem Inaocha who was also elected on CPI ticket from Ward No 8 of Lamlai Municipal Council.
Ngangom Sova, member of ward number 6, who was elected on a CPI ticket also joined the BJP today.
Besides approving the joining of the councillors by the BJP president Th Chaoba, the party today accorded a warm reception to them at its office.
Speaking at the occasion, BJP State unit president Th Chaoba said that the with many individuals and councillors joining the BJP, the strength of the part has increased.
He exuded confidence that the party will sweep the municipal council elections slated to be held early next year.
Chaoba also said that more than 4 lakh people of the State have enrolled in the party.
He further said that the party is making concerted efforts to head a stable Government in the State.
Convener of BJP RTI Cell, Mongjam Poireihanba pointed out that there is misgovernance in Lamlai Municipal Council.
He said the party will file PIL against councillors who misuse funds for construction of roads and bridges within the jurisdiction of Lamlai MC.
He also appealed to the people not to elect representatives who have embezzled development fund.
Ng Robin also accused the incumbent chairperson of Lamlai Municipal Council of misappropriating Rs 9,928,36 in cahoots with the Executive Officer without the knowledge of the nine councillors.
He further pointed out that a tractor and a trailer purchased for cleaning the market have disappeared.
