AR busts KRF hideout, recovers huge cache of arms

Assam Rifles busted a hideout of Kuki Revolutionary Front (KRF) and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition and war like stores during an operation at Lamshong village, Saikul police station, Sadar Hills, Senapati district.
Based on a reliable information on presence of a hideout of KRF, troops of B Company, 25 Assam Rifles launched an operation in the village area on December 2 evening which resulted in the busting of the hideout and recovery of the cache, police reports said Friday.
The Assam Rifles recovered one M1 Carbine, one magazine, 14 live rounds, one SBBL gun, 10 live rounds, one country made .22 pistol, two country made pistols, two magazines, one .22 pistol, one magazine, six hand grenades, six electronic detonators, four rounds each of M 16 and AK 47 rifles, one round each of 9 MM pistol and 7.62 gun, four demand notes of KRF and one Walkie Talkie set.
The seized arms and ammunition and incriminating articles have been handed over to Saikul police station, according to the reports.
The Kuki Revolutionary Front (KRF), which is active in Sadar Hills, is a Suspension of Operation (SoO) signatory under the Kuki rebels' umbrella organisation United People's Front (UPF).
The SoO agreement involves both the State and Central Government.
