Imphal, October 04 2015: Titular King Leishemba Sanajaoba has today appealed to both the hills and the valley people to join this year's Mera Houchongba celebration to be held on October 27 at Sana Konung under the aegis of the Mera Houchongba Thousillup, Konung.

Mera Houchongba Thousillup has been celebrating Mera Houchongba every year on the 15th day of Mera (as per Meitei calender) .

This year, the opening function of the celebration would be marked by a prayer session at Kangla, Leishemba Sanajaoba conveyed at a press meet held at Sana Konung.

The celebration of Mera Houchongba dates back to the time when the State was ruled by kings.

It is one of those celebrations where the bond between different communities are reaffirmed.

Sanajaoba called for a joint participation in the celebration to further consolidate the idea of oneness between different communities.
