Imphal, August 04 2015: A draft Bill prepared by the drafting committee headed by Law Minister Th Debendra as chairman for protection of indigenous people has been submitted to the Government.

Briefing media persons at his Secretariat today, Chief Minister O Ibobi stated that the draft Bill was attached with the recommendations made by the High Court Bar Association.

The Bill would be discussed in a Cabinet meeting before it is tabled in the State Assembly.

The Chief Minister then appealed to JCILPS to come forward and examine the Bill so as to plug in all loopholes before it is tabled in the State Assembly.

Even if the JCILPS has reservations to sit together with the Government, they may sit together with the drafting committee or any MLAs and study the draft Bill together so as to avoid the fate MRVTMW Bill 2015 which has now been withdrawn, Ibobi added.
