Miscreant hacks woman in broad daylight

Thoubal, February 04 2020:
A 46 year old woman, identified as one Thingujam Somola w/o Th Mohonmacha, was hacked several times on her face and head with a knife by an unidentified youth and left to die near Charangpat Mamang Leikai Selom Loukol left main channel at around 2.30 pm yesterday.
Fortunately, the woman survived her injuries and is currently being treated at Raj Medicity.
Following the shocking incident, a team of police led by Thoubal SP Dr S Ibomcha launched a manhunt to nab the culprit.

The police team has been reportedly able to retrieve a knife, a blood soaked towel and a black hoodie from near the incident site.
On the other hand, womenfolk of Charangpat Mam- ang Leikai staged a sit in protest at Chirom Lampak today holding placards which vehemently condemned the heinous crime.
Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the protest, one Keisham (o) Tampak Leima took strong note of the incident and demanded the police to book the criminal at the earliest.
She said that a joint action committee has been formed regarding the case.
Different modes of intense agitation would be launched if the authority fails to capture the person responsible for the crime within 24 hours, she told media persons.
