Rogue NPP MLAs will face music: Joykumar

National People's Party (NPP) National vice president Y Joykumar has stated that NPP MLAs who are still working together with Chief Minister N Biren even after the party has withdrawn its support to the Biren Government will face action from the party.
Speaking at a felicitation function of newly elected office bearers of NPP Manipur unit at their Naoremthong office, Y Joykumar who earlier served as the State's Deputy Chief Minister claimed that NPP is becoming more popular and stronger in Manipur after it withdrew support to the Biren Government.
Newly elected NPP Manipur unit women wing president Nonibala Sapam, NPP Manipur unit general secretary (IT & Frontal Organisation) Loitongbam Jayananda and NPP Manipur Unit Youth president Nongthombam Bidyarani were felicitated today.
Joykumar said that the three party leaders have been assigned new posts with due permission of the party's president so as to strengthen the party in Manipur.
With a view to the 13th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections, NPP has initiated necessary steps to strengthen the party, he said.
He said that women and youth must share big responsibilities toward bringing changes and development in Manipur.
Joykumar said that the party's office bearers should take leading roles in informing NPP's ideology to the masses.
NPP withdrew its support to the State's BJP Government because of its abject failure to bring an end to the protracted crisis, Joykumar said and added that the party is growing more popular and stronger after it withdrew its support to the BJP Government.
Now many distinguished personalities have expressed their desire to join the NPP, he claimed.
He said that NPP has been planning a felicitation programme for all newly enrolled members and leaders of different Assembly Constituencies in early 2025 .
On being enquired by media persons about the continued association of some NPP MLAs with the BJP Government even after party president Conrad Sangma declared withdrawal of the party's support to the BJP Government, Joykumar said that the matter has been informed to Conrad Sangma.
He said that the NPP would soon serve show cause notice on all the defiant MLAs and the party would decide the next course of action after proper enquiry.
