Imphal, November 02 2017:
Congress party has accused the NPF of doublespeak with regard to the issue of the State's territorial integrity.
Speaking to media persons at Congress Bhavan here this afternoon, MPCC secretary and MLA Keisam Meghachandra said that they were aware about the presence of NPF MLA Awangbow Newmai at the all political parties meeting held in the Chief Minister's Secretariat last Saturday .
Awangbow himself had told media that he was present at the meeting .

On the same day the meeting was held, a group of NPF issued a statement to media saying that they would stay away from the all political parties meeting and if any NPF MLA/member was present at the meeting, they should not be counted as official representatives of the party, Meghachandra recalled .
Subsequently Congress leaders held a press meet the next day where ex-Chief Minister raised a question to the State Government and BJP regarding the ambiguous position of NPF on the issue of the State's territorial integrity .
The Congress leaders also made it clear that the party would decide about participating in future all political parties meeting after the ambiguity of NPF which is a partner of the coalition Government led by BJP is settled .
Even as all political parties have pledged to protect the integrity of Manipur and its territorial integrity, NPF has not expressed their position clearly thereby arousing deep suspicion among the masses, Meghachandra said.
Even if there is a fissure within the NPF, both sides must state their positions on the issue of the State's integrity.
As for the Congress party, it is fully committed not to tolerate any disturbance to the State's integrity and its territorial boundary, he continued.
Both the Central and State Governments led by BJP have been talking about transparency every now and then .
Then what is the harm in divulging the details of the Framework Agreement, Meghachandra asked.
