Cabinet okays 83 seri posts

With a view to resume the stalled Manipur Sericulture Project, the State Cabinet has given its consent to create 83 new posts.
Speaking to media persons after the Cabinet meeting held this evening with Chief Minister O Ibobi in the chair, Works Minister Dr Kh Rat-ankumar informed that the meeting also approved ex-gratia of Rs five lakh to the next of kin of the three persons killed in the Hicham Yaicham Pat bomb blast, Rs 50,000 to each of the injured victims and Rs 10,000 to each victim who sustained minor injuries.
The Cabinet meeting further agreed to strengthen en- forcement wing of the Health Department for proper implementation of the Food Safety Standard Act 2006 .
Designated officers posted in different districts, Moreh and Jiribam would be re-designated as Food Safety Officers.
It decided to appoint office assistants, peons and staff of food testing laboratory.
However, the agenda of empowering ADC and revamping ITI were deferred to the next Cabinet meeting.
Dr Ratankumar also informed that renovation/development works being done at Tulihal Airport such as electrification, security hall, VIP lounge and reporting counter would be completed by November 15 .
Industries and Transport Departments are also planning to send a State delegation to Mossey, located at the border of China and Myanmar, added Dr Ratankumar.
