Sanamahi followers increasing day by day: Jayantakumar

Imphal, February 02 2020: Sanamahi Temple Board organised a dedication programme of "Sanamahi Laining-gi Chatna Kanglon, Laining Khudam amasung Sanamahi Laining-gi Firal" at 1st MR today.

Art and Culture Minister L Jayantakumar said that followers of Sanamahi are increasing day by day.

However, there are many followers who are not fully aware of the practices and traditions of Sanamahism.

The Minister noted that the increase in the number of followers can be witnessed easily as many people go to Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board to carry out religious rituals and prayers.

Those who want to follow the religion should properly know the religion and its practices/traditions first, he opined.

The Minister said that any healthy discussions or better suggestions are welcomed in deliberating the Meiteis Puyas, which have been left behind by Maichous of Manipur.

Appealing all to conduct more research/ surveys and learn more about the religion to keep the religion at par with other religions, he maintained that the basic philosophy of Sanamahi should be unaltered.

Vice president of LSTB Vidyapati Senjam (Wakhal Lamjingba), Dr S Lanchenba Meitei and Keisham Ibomcha were present at the function.
