Bishnupur buzzes with SVEEP activities

Bishnupur, November 30 2021:
In view of the upcoming State Assembly Election, the District Election Office, Bishnupur has organised a series of Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) outreach campaigns across the district to encourage voters' participation.
Quiz competitions for young voters, mobile campaigns, street plays, cVIGIL pledge taking sessions and distribution of paper bags with SVEEP imprint among others marked the outreach activities conducted throughout the month.
As part of the ongoing Special Summary Revision exercise, a special SVEEP campaign for transgender voters was organized by the District Election Office in association with Maruploi Foundation, Bishnupur at the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat complex on Monday.
Following a cVIGIL pledge-taking exercise by the participants, Oinam Prasanta, District Manager, DIT Bishnupur led a technical session as the resource person covering Ethical Voting & Franchise Rights including cVIGIL and its importance.

The transgender community requested the District Election Office to arrange separate queues for transgender voters on poll day during the interactive session.
H Bobby Sharma, ADC; Ejaj Hassan, AC to DC/EO and Dr Salam Dhana Singh, SVEEP Nodal Officer, Bishnupur attended the session.
After the interactive session, a SVEEP activity in connection with Special Summary Revision for transgender voters was held at the office premise of SDO Bishnupur to facilitate enrolment, correction and revision for the community.
It may be mentioned that the District Election Office also set up SVEEP Stall during the recently concluded 'Go To Village' camp at Ngaikhong Khunou playground under Oinam AC.
During the 3 day long camp, new and existing voters were provided services for enrolment, corrections, updating B/W photo to colour besides issues concerning Persons with Disabilities (PwD) rights.
