National Unity Day celebrated across the State

As celebrated across the country, National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) was also observed in the State on Sunday to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who had a major role in the political integration of India.
CHANDEL
Field Outreach Bureau, Chandel under the aegis of Bureau of Outreach & Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India celebrated National Unity Day at Chandropoto village Community Hall with the youths of Phantu United Sporting Association.
It was attended by Parpa Simther Chothe, village chief; Yulhung Robin Chothe, village secretary and Yulhung Isaac Chothe, president PUSA as presidium members.
A public rally was also held as a part of the celebration.
CHURACHANDPUR
Churachandpur Sector and Kakching Sectors under the aegis of IGAR (S) also organised various events with the locals to celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Noney, Kakching and Chandel between October 28 to 31.As part of the event an impressive march-past alongside a pledge taking ceremony to enhance the sense of unity were carried out at multiple locations including Kakching, Sajik Tampak, Joupi, Sehlon, etc.
A painting competition for children and friendly volleyball matches for youth were also conducted, said a release issued by IGAR(S) .

IMPHAL
To commemorate National Unity Day, 86 Bn CRPF also organised 'Calendar activities' under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) from November 2020 to October 2021 at Unit HQ Lamphelpat, CRPF, Imphal.
As part of the celebration, a 'Run for Unity' covering 3km distance followed by cleanliness drive under Swatch Bharat Abhiyan was also conducted under the supervision of Sh Mohammad Yusuf, Commandant 86 Bn CRPF.
Later, a ceremonial parade was also conducted by the personnel of the battalion.
Similarly, Group Centre, CRPF, Langjing also celebrated National Unity Day by taking a pledge to dedicate themselves towards the preservation of unity, integrity and security of the Nation and also to spread the message of unity throughout the country.
It was participated by M S Shekhawat, IGP, CRPF, M & N Sector as the chief guest.
Moreover, 69 Bn CRPF also conducted 'Run for Unity', tree plantation, march-past and took integrity pledge as part of the observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.
Bajrang Lal, Commandant 69 Bn CRPF flagged off the run, administered the pledge and was the chief guest of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas parade.
NONEY
In line with the celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Noney Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 22 Sector Assam Rifles and IGAR (East) organized a tree plantation drive at Tupul village CC-III, Noney district.
The mega tree plantation drive was carried out to foster the bond of humanity between the local populace and the security forces and also to promote and strengthen peace and harmony in the region.
During the event, the villagers also took a pledge to maintain and preserve the ecological balance and biodiversity of the environment.
A total of 175 saplings were planted during the drive by troops of Assam Rifles and Youth Club Members of the village.
The youths were also educated on the role of 'Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel' in the integration of modern India.
SENAPATI
Field Outreach Bureau, Senapati under the aegis of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting also celebrated National Unity Day at Chadong village Community Hall.
It was attended by Wungnaoya Kasar, Headman of Chadong village; Kahaoshang Mahong, secretary Chadong village as presidium members.
Dr Waribam Raghumani Singh, Professor, Assam University, Silchar also attended the programme as a resource person.
During the programme, Waribam Urmila, Field Publicity Officer administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge while A Sankhil George, Field Publicity Assistant delivered the keynote address.
TAMENGLONG
To commemorate National Unity Day, 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) also organised an oath taking ceremony followed by a unity run at Tamenglong and T Waichong.
The event started from Jadonang Park in Tamenglong town with the release of pigeons.
Rich floral tributes were also paid to the Iron man of India, said a statement of PIB Defence Wing.
The battalion also conducted a painting competition on the theme, "Unity in diversity" at Dikhuiram.
It was participated by about 50 students.
