PM to inaugurate Ima Market at Lilong on Jan 4

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to inaugurate the Ima Market at Lilong on January 4, 2022, Chief Minister N Biren Singh laid the foundation stone of Manipur State Haj House at Usoipokpi, Lilong under Thoubal district, today.
Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony, N Biren stated that he will instruct the implementing agency to complete the Haj House within one year.
The Ima Market at Lilong will also be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 4, 2022, he said.
The Government has resolved to pay Rs 30,000 per month to the chairman of Haj Committee, the Chief Minister said and added that the Cabinet is considering payment of 7th Pay to the staff of WAKF Board and Minority Commission staff.
Continuing that the Government is also considering imparting Skill Development training in Meitei-Pangal areas, the Chief Minister urged the youth to stand against drugs and make Lilong a totally drug free area.
He also mooted identification of economically backward families so as to uplift the underprivileged.
Stating that decency must be maintained while uploading posts on social media, N Biren informed that the Government has set up a Cyber Crime Special Unit to check misuse of social media.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was organized by the Minority Affairs Department.
The Haj House will be constructed at a project cost of Rs 10 crore at the land donated by one Hafiz Quary Quayamuddin.
