Imphal, December 31 2013 : VK Duggal was today sworn in as the 14th Governor of Manipur at a solemn function held at the Raj Bhavan.

Soon after taking the oath of office and secrecy, the Governor conveyed his best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of the New Year Day.

Proceedings for the swearing in ceremony held this afternoon was handled by Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga.

Manipur High Court Chief Justice Lakshmikant Mahapatra administered the oath of office and secrecy to the New Governor.

After VK Duggal was sworn in as the 14th Governor of Manipur, an IRB contingent led by 5th IRB Commandant HT Gangte gave him guard of honour.

The swearing in ceremony was attended by Chief Minister O Ibobi, Deputy Chief Minister in charge of Home Affairs Gaikhangam, Council of Ministers, MLAs, former Chief Minister Radhabinod Koijam, leaders of different political parties and top ranking police and civil Government officials.
