Imphal, October 30 2018:
People's Action For National Democratic Movement (PANDM) has denounced the State Government for failing to release relief packages under NDRF assistance for the flood affected victims of 2017.Recalling the flood of 2017 which affected the lives of many in both the hills and the valley, PANDM Information and Public Relation secretary Rosnikanta Takhelcha conveyed that several Ministers inspected the affected areas and provided essential commodities to the victims of the disaster.
He also mentioned that its been long the DCs of the affected district submitted a report of spot inquiry to the authorities concerned to provide financial aid to the victims, under National Disaster Relief Fund.
Although a total of Rs 130.65 crore was sanctioned for NDRF Assistance for Flood and Landslide, the State Government has not yet released an order to distribute the relief packages to the beneficiaries, he claimed.
Questioning why the relief packages sanctioned by the Central Government has not been released yet, he appealed the State Government to approve and distribute the pending fund to the concerned DCs for the welfare of the flood victims.
