All Jiribam denizens jabbed with first dose

Jiribam has become the first among 16 districts of the state to achieve cent percent administration of first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
DC Jiribam Malemnganba Chenglei chaired a celebration function held for achieving the feat on Monday at the conference hall of DC office complex.
The simple celebration function was also attended by District Immunisation Officer (DIO) Dr Ng Bembem and medical staff, top officials of the district police, leaders of COVID-19 Task Force formed at Panchayat and Municiplaity levels and leaders of AJUCA and JDO.
While narrating challenges and difficulties encountered during vaccination exercise, Dr Bembem thanked health workers, district administration, police> task force volunteers and CMO for their contributions towards ensuring success of the vaccination exercise and achieving the feat.
Affer declaring that Jiribam has become the first among 16 districts of the state to achieve cent percent vaccination with first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, DC Malemnganba said that vaccination exercise in Jiribam began on January 9 this year among health care workers and volunteers of COVID-19 task forces of district and then extended to all eligible people who are 18 years and above.
On August 3 this year, Jaku-radhor GP of Jiribam became first among GPs of the state to achieve cent percent vaccination of all eligible people with first dose and then achieved cent percent vaccination in entire area of Jiribam district on Sunday (August 29), he said.
According to Malemnganba, Jiribam district has total of 27,392 voters as per electoral roll published in 2021 but COVID-19 vaccine has been given to 27,429 people including 37 individuals who have crossed 18 years of age but yet to be enrolled in electoral roll.
He also commended health workers, district administration staff, police, task force volunteers and CMO for taking part in the vaccination exercise and appealed to them to take part in the vaccination exercise for the second dose and work collectively.
