Cleanliness drive held at Moirang Keithel

Bishnupur, July 29 2018: With a view to keep Moirang Keithel neat and clean and to make the market presentable to tourists, a cleanliness drive was carried out at the Keithel today, under the aegis of Moirang AC MLA Pukhrem Sharatchandra Singh.

The cleanliness drive was jointly organised by MLA office Moirang, Modi Bhavan Moirang and Moirang Municipal Council in which MLA P Sharatchandra, SDPO Moirang O Sukumar and OC Moirang RK Anilkumar, Moirang Municipal Council staff, NCC Moirang Cadets, CSOs, Moirang Fire Sub Station staff carried out the cleanliness drive.

The drive was extended to Khamnu Keithel, Ngangoi Keithel, drains round the Keithel along with roads leading to Moirang Keithel were cleaned during the drive.

Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the cleanliness drive, MLA Sharatchandra stated that Moirang is the second commercial hub after Imphal, apart from being a famous sightseeing place for tourists.

The drive was taken up as part of the continuous social service campaigns conducted, under his directive, to make Moirang AC a model constituency.

While Moirang Municipal Council Executive Officer Gougillal stressed on the need to adopt the habit of using garbage bins while adding that the responsibility of keeping an area clean should be taken by all and not just the officials concerned and the Government.
