Imphal, June 29 2015 :
Committee on Civil Societies, Kangleipak has on Monday condemned the attack on Mao people and vandalisation of their properties in Kohima recently.
In a statement the committee flayed the State Government for allegedly failing to handle the issue arising out of the Dzukou Valley encroachment and for being Imphal-centric when it comes to administration.
It expressed disappointment over Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang's rejection of the proposal by the Manipur Government to work together to resolve the issue.
The committee criticized the Nagaland CM for his remarks that the Naga social bodies had been working to bring about a solution to the impasse in the valley.
It claimed now that Manipur is facing not only the territorial integrity issue, but also the issue concerning building up of sentiment for a Naga nation in the State in the hope to integrate themselves with the Naga of Nagaland State.
The committee felt the looming impact of the issue and called on the people of the State to be aware about it.
