From now on, Tangkhul chiefs to walk in uniform

Imphal, March 29 2012: Uniforms have been presented to Tangkhul chiefs during a function organized by Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long at the conference hall of Youth Hostel, Ukhrul today.

Attended by around 100 Tangkhul Chiefs, the function was graced by Sudhan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul and AS Vaome, President of Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long as Chief Guest and President respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Sudhan observed that it is the duty of every individual belonging to different communities to safeguard and promote the culture and tradition of their respective communities.

So, it is indeed appreciable that Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long has come up with a unique uniform of all the Tangkhul Chiefs.

Delivering the Presidential address, AS Vaome said that the basic idea behind bringing out a uniform of the Tangkhul Chiefs is to make them easily recognizable by the people.

The uniform cannot be worn by any individual other than the Chiefs.

The uniform will have a unique logo designed by the company which has made the uniform to show that person wearing it is a Chief.

This will help in protecting the culture and tradition of the community to a large extent.

The function was also attended by Solomon Ningshen, President of Tangkhul Naga Long as Guest of Honour.
