Solar street lights distributed

Imphal, December 28 2013 : 10 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) distributed solar street lights to Sangji village of Tamenglong district under Assam Rifles Military Civic Action Programme today.

According to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S), this project will facilitate electrification of streets in the village and give the village a secure environment during the night.

Sangji village is badly affected by the irregular power supply.

The solar street lights installed in the village would be the first step towards resolving their long-standing problem.

The solar street lights were handed over by Commandant, 10 Assam Rifles to the villagers of Sangji.

While addressing the villagers at the occasion, Commandant 10 Assam Rifles urged people to come forward and move progressively towards peace and prosperity and assured them of full support and cooperation of Assam Rifles in achieving it.

He also assured that Assam Rifles stand committed for upliftment of the people of Manipur and will ensure development of basic infrastructure in the remote areas for the betterment of the poor people and also requested for active participation and cooperation from them, the statement added.
