Covid-19 claims another life, infects four

Imphal, August 28 2022:
Covid-19 has claimed yet another life in the state on Sunday taking the death toll to 2147 while government bulletins reported four new positive cases from three districts out of 366 samples tested in the last 24 hour, thus, registering a positivity rate of 1.1 per cent.
The four fresh cases (1 male & 3 females) are residents of Imphal West (2), Churachandpur (1) and Kangpokpi (1) districts.
The latest victim of the pandemic was an unvaccinated male resident of Ukhrul district.
Sunday also reported 22 recoveries from home isolation (10), RIMS (1), JNIMS (1) and 10 already discharged cases pending for update.
Number of active cases came down to 64, out of which 42 are in home isolation.
The pandemic has so far claimed 2147 lives including seven CAPF personnel and infected 1,39,677 individuals including 5,020 CAPF personnel.
There are 34 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 57 in RIMS.
In the last 24 hours, 105 D-type and 8 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities and 1622 vaccine doses administered on Saturday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 16,28,137, out of which 13,02,221 had received the second dose and 2,41,277 jabbed with precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (49768), Imphal East (32015), Thoubal (10288), Churachand-pur (11262), Kangpokpi (3183), Tamenglong (3496), Bishnupur (9968), Senapati (2545), Ukhrul (3362), Kakching (6971), Chandel (2789), Noney (1173), Tengnoupal (1210), Jiribam (1118), Kamjong (1053) and Pherzawl (476) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (711), Imphal East (517), Thoubal (192), Churachandpur (169), Kangpokpi (70), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (206), Senapati (13), Ukhrul (52), Kakching (124), Chandel (43), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (16), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
