The family members of the deceased Kh Dhanamanjuri who was allegedly killed by her husband, Niranjan, has demanded justice for the killing and will not settle for any kind of compensation whatsoever from the government.
Addressing media persons at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club today, Athokpam Ingochanbi, brother-in-law of the deceased, said that the allegation made by the in-laws of the deceased that Dhanamanjuri committed suicide by hanging herself is totally baseless.
There were various torture marks on the body of Dhanamanjuri.
Her neck bore signs of cut marks by sharp knives and there were visible signs of torture marks on various parts of her body.
And since she was 8 months pregnant, it is not possible that she would have thought of committing suicide.
A memorandum has also been submitted to the Chief Minister in the regard.
The memorandum demanded to give befitting punishment to the culprit and also to apprehend the parents of Niranjan.
It also demanded that Niranjan who is a Constable in the Manipur police should be terminated from his job, he said.

After the post mortem the family members of Niranjan came to the morgue to collect the body but were prevented from doing so by the family members of Dhanamanjuri.
