CFADC Tamengong meeting reaffirms decision to intensify stir

Tamengong, August 26 2015:
Committee for Formation of ADC (CFADC) Tamengong on Wednesday held a meeting at Zeliangrong House, Tamenglong District Headquarters and chalked out plans for further intensification of the ongoing agitation demanding formation of the council.
The meeting reaffirmed the decision to intensify the stir at any cost till the demand is met.
It also resolved to impose economic blockade; call total bandhs; picket all government offices/institutions, if the state government fails to meet the demand in couple of days.
The meeting then resolved to instruct/inform the Traders Association of Tamenglong to stock up sufficient essential commodities within four or five days in view of the proposed intensified agitation.
CFADC will be seeking cooperation from organizations based in hill districts of Manipur besides consulting all frontal organizations for the agitation.
The CFADC meeting also resolved to hold another public meeting on August 31 to seek public opinion and decided to request all churches of Tamenglong to pray for the success of the stir.
Meanwhile, BJP ST Morcha Tamenglong District Committee on Wednesday issued a press released appealing the State Government to install ADC Tamenglong.
The Morcha's President G Apoukhui said that out of 24 ADC members elected, 13 members - 5 from BJP and 8 from NPF had formed the Democratic Alliance of Tamenglong and staked claim to form council.
He also sought to know on what ground the formation of council has been delayed.
Election was held on June 1, 2015 and counting took place on June 10 June, he recalled.
