Imphal, June 26 2021:
Manipur Legislative Assembly Deputy speaker K Robindro has urged all concerned to stop spreading misinformation about the Covid-19 vaccine on social media including making claims that those who have vaccinated will die within 1-2 years.
Speaking on the sidelines of a mobile mass vaccination programme organised by Primary Health Centre, Mayang Imphal in association with Impact Club Uchiwa at Uchiwa Leirak Achouba on Saturday, Robindro noted that the state is currently facing the second wave of the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic.
However, amid such a serious situation, some ill-intentioned people are spreading misinformation about the ongoing vaccination campaign on social media platforms, claiming that the vaccinated will die within 1-2 years.
Urging all concerned to stop such heinous acts, the deputy speaker, who is also the MLA of Mayang Imphal AC, said that timely vaccination will help save lives.
Because the frontline workers were the first to get vaccinated, they are able to provide the best health care service to the people, he contended.
Regarding the mobile vaccination camp, Robindro said that the camp was organised from Friday to facilitate those coming in from remote areas.
