More short films suggested

Art & Culture Secretary K Radhakumar on Sunday said that there is need to produce more Manipuri short films to enable the State to compete at the global level.
Radhakumar was attending a programme "Manipuri Short Film: Discourse & Screening of Award Winning Short Films" hosted by Cine Directors' Guild, Manipur at JN Dance Academy Hall here.
Besides Radhakumar, the event was also attended by Film Forum Manipur (FFM) chairman L Surjakanta Sharma and Art & Culture Director K Sushila.
Radhakumar added that art should be always 'universal' and emphasized the need for creating an image of Manipur in the world of short films at the international level.
Dr K Sushila in her speech assured that the Art & Culture Department was considering setting up of a short film archive.
She underlined the importance of proper training in making Manipuri short films by involving well-trained experts in the field from outside the State.
Several short films were also screened during the programme.
