CCpur, March 26 2018:
Days after reviewing developmental works undertaken by various departments in and around the town, a team led by the DC consisting of technical staff from DRDA, District police, SDO/BDO Henglep and representatives from Social Welfare, Education and Medical Department along with Kuki Inpi Churachandpur have returned today from Henglep after assessing Government projects taken up in the Sub-Division.
The team, according to an official report released by the DC, visited the SDO/BDO complex that also houses the Police outpost and Bank building; the RMSA Girls Hostel, ongoing construction of mini-stadium at Henglep; the Power Sub-station; Henglep Government High School; Primary schools at Mualdak, Tuilumjang and P Sejol; PHSC at Kolhen; KGBV and Vumhao Government High School at Tuilumjang; and the Anganwadi Centres at Henglep, Mualdak, Tuilumjang, P Sejol and Tuilaphai.
The visiting team also made an alarming observation of the road alignment work taken up between D Munlui and Kolhen villages, stating that the road is too steep and not appropriate for vehicles.
"The slope on either side of the Leimatak River is steep that even a 407 truck got burnt due to engine overheating", it said while adding that the official team too had a hard time negotiation the slope.
Alike their earlier findings in the town area, the interior villages too lack in maintaining MGNREGS records as required.
The difference however lies with the fact that none of the Job Card holders were in possession of their cards.
The PHC building at Henglep as well as the Bank building was in bad shape leading the Deputy Commissioner to express the need for one more MO and to instruct the CMO to ensure smooth functioning of the health centre.
While the SDO was also directed to renovate the Bank as well as to tie up with concerned banks and ensure that banking facilities are available to the people.
At PHSC Kolhen, the visiting team was greeted by a building that was in shambles and the lone ANM who was present there has been transferred to Tipaimukh thus jeopardising the MR Campaign starting this week.
The report maintains that RMSA Girls Hostel and Henglep High School was found in better shape with enrolment in the schools increasing substantially over the past few years but nevertheless, noted that the school building was in a poor condition.
The Anganwadi centres, which have repeatedly been the source of ire in the town area has reportedly impressed the visiting the most as they found them quite good.
The Deputy Commissioner has even tasted the food served to about 30 children at Henglep.
The facilities at Mualdak and Tuilaphai, although, lacked similar praise from the team.
