KCP, KNF-N cadres arrested

Security forces reportedly arrested two active members of the proscribed KCP and KNF (N) (non-SoO) groups from Churachandpur and Kakching districts.
According to police reports, a joint team of 37 AR and commando unit Kakching police conducted operation in Hiyanglam area on February 24 and arrested an active member of KCP with one 9mm pistol and three live rounds from Hiyanglam Hiramei.
The arrested KCP member has been identified as H Shyama Singh, son of H Dijamani Singh of T Chum Keirap Kom village but residing at Wabagai Tera Pishak Kakching.
Dijamani disclosed that he joined the PLA outfit in 1994 and before joining KCP in 2017 and worked as self styled corporal (finance) under one Lamyanba Khuman of the latter group.
He confessed to have been tasked to carry out extortion in Kakching district.
Dijamani has been handed over to Hiyanglam PS along with the seized arms for further investigation.
Meanwhile, acting on specific information regarding the presence of one KNF (N) cadre at Selbuhjang village, Churachandpur, a team of Sangaikot police station led by SI T Jangkholal Haokip conducted search operation on Saturday and arrested an active member of KNF (N).
The arrested member has been identified as Seiminlal Dimngel alias Lalboi alias Michael (35), son of Paokhohao Dimngel of Saijang village, Saikul sub division in Kangpokpi district.
Upon interrogation, he revealed of being an active member of KNF (N) after joining the outfit in July, 2022 along with 18 others through one Henkholen Kipgen alias James Kipgen, SS C-in-C of KNF(N).
He further disclosed of involvement in serving extortion letters to businessmen and shop owners in Saikul area.
The arrested member has been remanded to the custody of Churachandpur police station till March 2 for necessary action by Churachandpur CJM, Imphal, it informed.
