Saikul meet bats for electing young, educated MLA

The need for electing young and educated politicians or representatives was echoed during a public consultative meeting held in connection with the upcoming assembly election-2022 for 46-Saikul assembly constituency at Saikul village community hall on Wednesday.
The consultative meet was attended by various village chiefs, civil society organisation leaders, members of village authorities, youth and women from across Saikul assembly constituency.
Opinions, ideas and thoughts in connection with the upcoming 2022 general election were shared and discussed during the meeting.
It has now become very important to have young and educated political leaders in Saikul for a better future and bring Saikul AC to the path of development as the constituency needs political leaders who are vocal and dare to fight for the rights of the people, said former ADC Sadar HiUs member Thangkam Lupheng.
He also opined that Saikul needs a representative who is aware of the power and functions of MLA in the assembly while adding that the assembly segment needs a representative who, knows well about various Acts and Rights enshrined in the Constitution which protect and preserve tribal rights.
He also said that the entire hill districts of Manipur need to elect absolutely new, raw and young leaders who have far-sighted ideas.
Many other prominent leaders from Saikul AC also shared their opinions favouring choosing of a young leader for the .constituency.
CSO Saikul spokesperson Haochinlen Kilong said that people of Saikul AC now want to give space and responsibility to young politicians to take the constituency ahead with their vision and energy.
He continued that it is very fortunate for the people of Saikul that the young generation who are were not keen to join, politics in the past have now started getting into politics.
Considering the future of 46-Saikul AC, political parties in thestate must also realise that the people of Saikul AC need educated young blood to bring changes in the constituency and they must keep this in mind while issuing ticket for the upcoming 2022 election in respect of 46-Saikul AC, he maintained.
Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai president Seimang Lupho informed that the Kuki Inpi will organise another consultative meeting to share and discuss further opinions, ideas and thoughts for better Saikul in connection with the upcoming election, if the need arises.
He also exhorted the people of Saikul AC to come forward and make the AC a model and an ambassador of change for other constituencies in the state.
