Bishnupur, November 25 2019:
Claiming that the farmers of Kumbi Assembly Constituency who were affected by 2017 flood have not yet received the compensation amount already sanctioned by the State Government, RTI activist Sh Bangkimchandra has urged the authority concerned to look into the matter at the earliest.
Speaking to media persons during a press meet held at Wangoo Ahallup today, Bangkimchandra claimed that the farmers, through RTI reply, came to know that the Bishnupur DC had already sanctioned Rs 3.99 crore as relief fund for the affected farmers on July 2, this year through Direct Benefit Transfer System (DBTS) .
Stating that the flood had affected several fields in Kumbi AC, Ithai, Wangoo, Wangoo Tangjeng, Napet etc, he added that the compensation amount already sanctioned by the district administration has not reached the beneficiaries yet.
It has been almost 5 months since the amount was sanctioned and till now it has not reached the beneficiaries, he said suspecting irregularities in the matter.
He then appealed the authorities concerned to look into the matter and deposit the relief amount to the accounts of the beneficiaries at the earliest.
