Thoubal, August 25 2018: A sit-in-protest was staged today at Khekman Community Hall, Thoubal by Khekman Meira Paibi Apunba Ima Lup and Club under United Committee Manipur (UCM) terming the Framework Agreement signed between the India Government and NSCN-IM on August 3, 2015 is a contentious issue while demanding that Article 371(A) or any equivalent Act or6* Schedule cannot be implemented in Manipur.

The protestors also cautioned that if the territorial integrity of Manipur has been compromised then intense agitation much greater than the June 18 uprising is in the offing.

Speaking to the media persons, UCM secretary organization Ng Deva said that Article 371(A) and 6th Schedule mentioned in the report submitted by parliamentary standing committee cannot be implemented in Manipur and added that it has become imperative to air our intention to India Government not to divide Manipur on the line of ethnicity and GO I should understand that people of Manipur believed in peaceful co-existence.

He also appealed the State Government to convene Special Assembly session so that the gravity of situation and sensitivity of the issue be let known to GOI within the stipulated six months.
