Sit in protest staged

Imphal, July 25 2018: Endorsing the continuous demand for implementation of 7th Pay by State Government employees, a sit in protest was staged by employees of Department of Employment Exchange Lamphel today.

Speaking to media persons, one of the employees lamented that the Government, despite continuous and numerous agitations by different Departments of Manipur Government, has repeatedly brushed aside the rightful salaries of the employees.

It is unfortunate that the State Government has not given a positive response even though the movement of JAC AMTUC & AMGEO has entered 126 days.

The employee asserted that the neighbouring Tripura Government, on the other hand, has already pressured the matter to the Central Government for allocation of Rs 1500 crore for the employees of Tripura Government and the employees would be receiving their rightful 7th Pay anytime soon.

The employees reiterated the State Government to implement 7th Pay soon, considering the grievances of the employees, the prolonged cease work strike apart from other agitations.
