President of Janata Dal (United), Manipur State M Tombi has alleged that Congress-led Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh's Government has failed to fulfil its commitments made to the public.
Addressing media persons at the office of JD (U), Babupara here today, Tombi said a team of all political parties had met Prime Minister and Home Minister in New Delhi on January 16 urging them to take strict action against one NSCN-IM cadre Livingstone Anal for committing crime against women.
However, the case has been kept silently with no action from the Government, he lamented.
He further lambasted the State Government for failing to ban sale tobacco products in the State.
The tobacco products banned by the Government are found selling openly at much higher prices.
The ban seems to benefit the tobacco manufacturers instead of maintaining good public health, Tombi averred.
The Congress Government only makes false promises to people.
The deplorable Imphal-Jiribam Road was also inspected by former Defence Minister Palam Raju with a promise that the highway would be developed to the world-class standard.
The recent visit of Union Minister Jitendra Singh would also be the same as the previous visit of Palam Raju, and so people should not expect anything good from the Congress leaders, the State President noted.
Tombi further claimed that the State Government has become quite unpopular.
with the people owing to its inability to implement the Inner Line Permit System and also its controversial decision on acquisition of Sana Konung.
