Laii villagers take up the onus of repairing road

Draining out their patience even after repeated reminders to repair the much acclaimed state border road which is in deplorable condition of the TT Laii Road in Senapati district, the Laii circle villages organized a month long social works on their own initiatives to repair the said road.
Coming out strongly against the lethargic attitude of the state PWD to develop such state assets, the circle villages have warned that such failures of the government will only widen good relations between the government and the people.
Meanwhile, the circle union has expressed its appreciation and acknowledgement to its present local MLA L.Dikho for intervening into the matter and availing assistance to make the road motorable.
The circle village has also expresses their co-operation and support to their local MLA in future endeavors.
According to Laii Circle Union, the Tadubi, Tungjoy Laii road which also connects Nagaland state remained neglected by former legislators and the concerned department since many years.
The circle villages with its own resources like man power, Shaktiman trucks, machineries and materials conducted a month long mass social work to make it motorable.
Considered one of the most remote parts of the district, the said road till date has not seen any government officials or machinery implementing their works, stated the local leaders.
The TT Laii road also connects the Senapati district with Ukhrul district.
The Laii circle consisting of seven villages under Paomata sub-division has expressed its resentment and unhappiness over the state government's negligence and the concerned department for such a step-motherly treatment.
