Imphal,July 23 2015:
Manipur Students' Association Delhi (MSAD) and Campaign for Peace & Democracy, Manipur (CPDM) have strongly condemned the killings in Wuzu Village in Nagaland on July 16 and have extended support to the Kohima Rally organised by Naga Students' Federation (NSF) on Thursday.
In a joint statement, MSAD and CPDM stated that on July 16, baby Aso (13) and master Tiizali (14) were killed while one woman - Esther Jorror (24) sustained bullet injuries as a result of actions by security forces.
After going through the ground report prepared by NSF and Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR), the two bodies also condemned the alleged "misinformation propaganda" to cover up the inhumane crimes that were mercilessly perpetrated on the innocent people of Wuzu Village.
While extending solidarity with those participating at the Kohima Rally against the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) 1958, the two organisations said that AFSPA has been responsible for the "subjugations, oppressions, coercions, disturbances, insecurities, and confusions amongst the larger bulk of the Nagas" .
"We extend our solidarity, because, we think that the global' character of capital inflows and extraction of surplus values in various forms, carried out through unleashing State terrorism (militarisation), affected peoples across community and territorial boundaries", said MSAD and CPDM.
