Industry Mela at Kpi concludes in style

Kangpokpi, March 22 2018:
The three days Kangpokpi District Industry Mela at Mathew Thomas Ground culminated today.
The Industry Mela managed by 7even Events was organized by Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi under the sponsorship of Handloom & Textiles Department.
The closing ceremony was graced by Thangjakam Misao, Vice Chairman ADC Sadar Hills apart from other ADC Sadar Hills Councillors while Pastor J Lunkim, Chairman Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship attended as the closing Minister.
Speaking at the ceremony, Thangjakam Misao reiterated that the Industry Mela was organized with an aim to promote the enthusiasm and spirit of artisans, craftsperson, etc from every nook and corner of the district while emphasizing the role of artisans and craftsperson in the society.
He also said that it will create awareness among the people about the importance of handloom, handicrafts and skills entrepreneur in the district.
He further said that the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Kangpokpi decided to organize the Industry Mela bigger next time and appealed all artisans, craftsperson and the public of Kangpokpi district to participate in huge numbers.
The Vice Chairman also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the 7even Events, an event organizer from Imphal for their sincere and impressive management of the Mela while conveying gratitude to all stall owners for their enthusiastic participation.
27 stalls of various handlooms, handicraft, textile and others were opened during the Mela while all the stall owners were given commuting fare apart from fooding and lodging.
Stall No 5 Lenchonghoi Cane & Bamboo from Twinomjang, Stall No 16 Doupao Cane, Bamboo & Wooden Handicraft from Thangkanphai and Stall No 3 Cane, Bamboo, Wooden & Blacksmith from Laikoiching were awarded first, second and third position during
the closing ceremony.
Stall No 15 Mary Ladies Craft was awarded Most Unique stall while Stall No 12 Dorothy Dry Flower bagged highest sale during the Mela.
