Kakching, February 22 2018: Krishi Vigyan Kendra and NABARD Manipur Regional Office opened 'Wabagai Oriented Farmers' Club' at Wabagai Thingel Leikai, Kakching district today.

A base level orientation programme was also held during the inauguration programme of the club.

Additional Director KVK Thoubal senior scientist Khaidem Mohendro Singh, Assistant General Manager of NABARD Manipur Region RK Yaiphaba Meitei, SBI Kakching Branch Manager N Nimai, chief co-ordinator of Farmers' Club Keinou and BoD of Phidam Farmers' Producer Company Limited Laitonjam Ibohal Singh and SMS Plants Protection, KVK Thoubal Dr M Thoithoi Singh attended the event today as presidium members.

KVK Thoubal SMS Plant Breeding and Genetics Dr S Surmangol Singh spoke at the event as resource person.

The farmers' club opened today is 7th such club in Thoubal and Kakching district.

KVK Thoubal and NABARD is aiming to set up 10 farmers' club in the two districts.

The farmers' clubs aims to empower the farmers and encourage them to adopt new agricultural technologies and innovations.

SMS Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, KVK Thoubal Dr S Zeshmarani, SMS Home Science RK Lembisana, SMS Horticulture Kh Premlata, chief co-ordinator of Wabagai Oriented Farmers' Club K Jayanta attended the event today.
