Imphal, February 22 2015: Troops of 16 Assam Rifles (AR), 10 Sector under the aegis of HQ IQAR (South) launched an operation in the general area of Purum Khullen of Sanapati District and apprehended Kuki Independent Army (KIA), Deputy Defiance Secretary identified as Thangzalien Kom @ Ashok Kom @ Shaki (49) son of late Lenkhupar Kom, of Purum Khullen, under Sagolmang Police Station, Imphal East District on February 20 .

According to a press statement, Public Relation Officer HQ IGAR (South) said in another operation, troops of 22 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) established a vehicle checked post in the general area of Sugnu, Thoubal District apprehended two over ground workers of PREPAK on February 20. The apprehended cadres were identified as Irungbam Ranjit Singh (41) son of Irungbam Iboyaima Singh, and Khaidem Abung Singh (22) son of Khaidem Soba Singh from Napath Mayai Leikai, under Sugnu Police Station, Thoubal Distict, the statement PRO IGAR (S) added.
