Sharda's overnight stay campaign reaches Ukhrul

As her overnight stay campaign for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election reached Ukhrul district on Thursday, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda urged electors in Ukhrul district to send their 'lotus candidates' to the state assembly in the forthcoming assembly election.
On Thursday, Sharda along with party leaders held meeting with party workers at Phalee village of Chingai assembly constituency in Ukhrul district.
Addressing the gathering, Sharda said that electing BJP candidates will help accelerate overall development of Ukhrul district.
The party and the government know the dedication and hard works of the party workers in the district, she said and urged all to elect party candidate and contribute in bringing inclusive development in the district.
For 75 years, the state was dominated by lack of development in the hill areas but now the Biren led government has been able to bring significant progress, she claimed and conveyed that BJP's ideology is different from other political parties as the party focuses on upliftment of the backward classes and downtrodden people and has been working for the welfare of the future generation.
All the activities and initiatives taken up by the BJP government is to empower the younger generation so that they could achieve self-reliance and contribute in the nation building process with their innate talents and skills.
She also spoke on various schemes and initiatives taken up by the government.
Former deputy speaker Preshow Shimray, ex-minister Khasim Ruivah, retired IAS Ningom Chamroi and other leaders also attended the meeting.
Ukhrul is the third district where Sharda conducted her overnight stay campaign.
She kicked off the campaign from Bishnupur district and carried out similar campaign in Thoubal district earlier this month.
