Imphal, May 21 2015 : Troops of the 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) along with a team of Thoubal Commandos launched a joint operation in the general area Heirok part 3 Ngarouthel Lampak and nabbed two KYKL cadres on May 19 .

In a statement issued by PRO HQ IGAR (S), the apprehendees were identified as army No 3033, SS Cpl Karam Hemanta alias Phairen alias Bobo (28), S/o K Dhanya, of Barpathar Manipur Basti, Golaghat district, Assam and army No 781, SS L/Cpl Okram Amarjit Singh alias Raj alias Manaobi, (20), S/o Okram Premjit, of Wangjing Heitupokpi Awang Leikai.

The apprehendees have been handed over to the Heirok Police Station.

In another operation, troops of the 11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) along with a team of Manipur Commandos launched a joint operation in the general area Muslim Nagar, Ward No 5, Moreh and apprehended an over ground worker of KYKL on same day.

The apprehendee was identified as Md Zakariya, (21), S/o Md Joinlubuddin, of Muslim Bazaar, Ward No 5 (Manipur).

One Chinese grenade was recovered from his possession.

The apprehendee along with the recovered item has been handed over to the Moreh Police Station.

In yet another operation, troops of the 12 BIHAR of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) on Thursday launched an operation in the general area of Salam Mamang Leikai and apprehended one PREPAK cadre.

The apprehendee was identified as army No 30611, Sonakhaibam Ibomacha, S/o Late S Nitai Meitei, of Salam Mamang Leikai.

The apprehendee was handed over to the Patsoi Police Station.
