Training camp concludes

Imphal, August 20 2018: A Combined Annual Training Camp for the Air Wing cadets organised by No 1 Air Squadron NCC, Imphal Group has concluded today at the NCC Auditorium at NCC Group Headquarters, Imphal at DM College Campus.

The camp was attended by 399 Air Wing cadets including 287 boys and 112 girls cadets from various schools and colleges of Manipur.

During this camp cadets were imparted training of weapon handling, NCC drills.

Senior cadets visited Aviation Unit at Leimakhong to familiarize themselves with military aviation.

Guest lecturers were invited from Directorate of Health Department and State Legal Cell.

Cadets were apprised on careers and opportunities through a presentation by Sainik School, Imphal, said a statement of PIB Defence Wing.

Lieutenant General KH Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM (retired), Chairman of Manipur Public Service Commission attended the culmination function as chief guest.

The function consisted of various activities in view of the cultural training activities which will be showcased on Republic Day Parade, 2019 in New Delhi.

Due to the sad demise of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the function was kept at a very low key, conveyed the statement.

Lieutenant General KH Singh, exhorted cadets to make use of the opportunities provided by the NCC and develop the qualities of leadership in order to contribute to the society.

He gave away prizes to the meritorious cadets.
