RIMS hosts CME on 'exercise prescriptions & nutritional concepts'

Sports Medicine Department, RIMS, Imphal organised a one-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) on Exercise Prescription and Nutritional Concepts in Exercise at the Sports Science Lab, RIMS on Saturday.
The event was attended by RIMS director professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Sports Medicine Department's professor Y Nandabir, and Indian Society of Sports and Exercise Medicine (ISSEM) president Dr Hanjabam Barun as members on the dais.
Speaking on the occasion, professor G Sunil commended the organisers for orchestrating a unique CME focused on exercise prescription and nutritional concepts and expressed confidence that the sports medicine department will strive for achieving the goal of becoming one of the premier centres in the country.
The director conveyed his enthusiasm for the future, envisioning RIMS as an excellent centre that provides top-notch services to the state's athletes.
He also emphasised the need to integrate advanced scientific tools and devices into the sports medicine department to ensure continued excellence and proposed initiatives to enhance sports and establish RIMS as one of the centres for sports medicine.
The guest faculty, and president of ISSEM Dr Hanjabam Barun conducted an enlightening session on Exercise Prescription and Concepts of Nutrition in Exercise.
The CME programme included interactive question and answer sessions, engaging the audience, which comprised postgraduate students from the departments of physiology, PMR, and sports medicine, as well as staff and faculty members.
