Biren: BJP is future of Manipur, northeast

BJP Heingang Mandal accorded warm welcome to Union MoS for external affairs and education Dr RK Ranjan, who set out on his Jan Ashirwad Yatra from Mao Gate Tuesday.
On behalf of the people of Heingang assembly constituency, chief minister N Biren welcomed the Union minister at Kanglatongbi and later hosted a public reception at Luwangsangbam.
During the reception ceremony, CM Biren said RK Ranjan had shouldered immense responsibility for the people of Manipur apart from being a teacher and it is very fortunate that RK Ranjan has been appointed a Union minister along with four others from North East into the PM Modi led Union Cabinet.
While claiming that peace and unity among hills and valley have been restored since the coming of BJP government in the state, Biren .said RK Ranjan would not have become Union minister had the people of Manipur not given their mandate.
He also said that two MPs of the state are raising issues of the state in the Parliament apart from shouldering responsibility to bring development.
According to CM Biren, PM Modi's love for the people of the North East has been demonstrated with the appointment of five Union ministers from the region including RK Ranjan as all governments in the past neglected the region.
While claiming that BJP led government has been able to bring many changes in the state, CM Bireri said a base camp has been opened at Dzuko valley and celebrated Independence Day at the base camp this year.
Governments in past talked a lot but did nothing, he said adding that Republic Day parade at Kangla now begins from the Northern Gate of Kangla and frequent clash at Tungjoy village has now ceased.
BJP is a party which thinks for the welfare of the people and this has been exemplified with the implementation of ILP system in Manipur, he said adding that BJP is the future for the state as well as for the North East.
He also said that BJP would form the next government in Manipur and the party expects to get at least 44 seats in the next state assembly election.
