Assam Rifles organises awareness drives

Mantripukhri Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(South) conducted an Anti-Drug Awareness lecture andrally at Phaknung village of Imphal East yesterday.
The Anti-Drug awareness lecture and rally was organised with an aim to create awareness among the locals about the menace of drugs and the locals were briefed about the harmful effects of drugs on human body and society and the relation of drugs with crime was also stressed upon and how it leads to increase in contraction of diseases like AIDS, was also adequately highlighted, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
The villagers were advised on various government schemes and centres to help relieve drug addiction.
After the informative lecture the participants took out an awareness rally against drug abuse to ensure the message is spread to even the remote corner of the area, added the statement.
A total of 67 people including students, ladies and locals attended the event.
In another instance Loktak Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) conducted an awareness drive about Covid 19 vaccination on National Vaccination Day at Nangkhalawai village of Bishnupur district, today.
The drive was conducted with an aim to educate the local populace and to raise awareness about Covid 19 vaccination amongst the local populace which was attended by 135 men and women who thanked the efforts of AR for undertaking such an initiative to generate awareness amongst the local populace in the region, added the statement.
