PTC condemns extortion threat

CCpur, February 15 2020: The Paite Tribe Council has condemned in the strongest term an extortion notice allegedly served to Dr Thanglinlian by a group identified as Liberation Tiger of Tribals.

The group allegedly demanded Rs 5 lakh from the retired doctor who now runs a private clinic.

The PTC in their condemnation said, "this sort of practice is likely to disrupt the communal harmony in the district in particular and the State in general" .

Urging all outfit or organisation to refrain from making such demand to the paite speaking people, the PTC appealed the law-enforcing authorities to book the culprit immediately.
