Imphal, November 14 2019:
The United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has clarified that the organisation is not involved in the killing of one Paotinsat Vaiphei on November 10 at Haika Village near Sajiktampak in Chandel District.
A press release issued by UKLF expressed disappointment over the students' body - Zillai GHQ and its branches for dragging the name of the organisation in the killing of Paotinsat Vaiphei and levelling unfounded allegations against one of its senior officer.
Stating that none of their cadres nor any officers are involved in the killing in any manner, the statement contended that it would have been better if the leaders of Zillai and the relatives of the deceased person conduct a spot enquiry along with village chiefs of the area instead of levelling baseless and wild allegations.
The organisation will not take responsibility on any actions of ex-cadres who were terminated from the organisation for their misconduct, however, the organisation will not hesitate and spare anyone including an ex-cadre in awarding befitting punishment if involved in any crime, it added.
Claiming that the organisation had found that the deceased fought with some other individuals under the influence of alcohol on the very fateful evening, it added that UKLF will nab and punish all individuals who were involved in the brutal murder.
It then urged the leaders of Zillai to withdraw their baseless allegations in order to avoid misunderstanding.
