Dimapur, September 14 2014:
Naga Hoho has stated that it is perturbed to observe habitual raiding of houses by Assam Rifles belonging to different "Naga political groups" (Naga underground groups in ceasefire) time and again in different places.
The Naga Hoho said it is surprised that even the innocent public are not spared from such raids.
"For instance, the residence of Yetoi, Atoka and Hosheto belonging to GPRN/NSCN (Khole-Kitovi group of the NSCN) were raided on September 10, 11 and 12," the Naga Hoho alleged.
Further, the residence of innocent citizen Mughavi Swu was raided on September 13 in the wee hours which is an act of intimidation and violation of human rights, the Naga Hoho added.
"We are reminded once again that the Assam Rifles are committing these crimes under the guise of infamous draconian laws of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and thereby engaging to derail the hard earned ceasefire/ peace process between the Government of India and different Naga political groups," it stated.
In this regard, the Naga Hoho said it sincerely appeals to the Assam Rifles and the Chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group (CFMG) Lt.Gen (Rtd) NK Singh to uphold the mutually agreed "Ceasefire" and to restrain from violating ceasefire ground rules till 'we achieve amicable settlement of Indo-Naga political problem' .
