Sit in protest

The Anal Lenruwl Tangpi (Anal Naga Students' Union) organised a sit in protest at Toupokpi village followed by a public meeting at Chakpi Karong.
They union also visited banks, hospitals, inspected roads, bridges etc on the next day, conveyed a press release issued by general secretary of ALT.
ALT, Anal Civil Societies along with public leaders, village chiefs, villagers staged the protest on March 8 condemning the inclusion of Toupokpi and other tribal villages in Sugnu SDC circle.
A public meeting was held later at Anal Naga Chief Association office, Chakpi Karong later in the evening.
The meeting deliberated on the present situation of Chakpi Karong hospital, bank, schools, roads and bridge, sanitation etc.
Chakpi Karong Chief Association president, village chiefs, Chairman Bazar Board Chakpi Karong, ANTA, ASR, ALT Chakpi Karong branch, school Principals, social workers attended the meeting among other stakeholders.
On the following day, ALT Chandel HQ along with ALT Chakpi Karong branch visited the Chakpi Karong hospital and interacted with the MO of the hospital, it said.
The issues and insufficiency of the hospital were thoroughly discussed with the MO wherein the MO agreed to work together with ALT Chandel HQ and ALT Chakpi Karong branch in taking up welfare initiatives for the hospital.
The team also visited Chakpi Karong Govt Higher Secondary School and interacted with the head of the school.
The meeting ended on a positive note where both the parties agreed to cooperate and make necessary improvements in the school.
Later, the team visited the Chakpi karong Bazar to spread awareness amongst the retailers and shop owners to refrain from selling unhealthy and expired products or items.
The shop owners were also advised not to sell goods exceeding the MRP and not to use unfair means and alter the MRP from the goods and products.
