Nine political parties have jointly convened a public meeting on the infamous CAB 2016 on January 15 at Imphal.

The nine political parties will work together to translate whatever resolutions adopted at the public convention into action together with the masses, he said.
"We would also urge MPs of friendly parties to oppose the Bill when it is tabled in the Rajya Sabha", Sotinkumar said.
He continued that they would urge the State Government to convene an all political parties meeting and also a special session of the State Assembly so as to adopt a concrete resolution on the issue of the CAB 2016.PRJA member Popilal Ningthoujam, quoting Chief Minister N Biren's statement that the CAB 2016 would not affect Manipur in any manner, asserted that the Manipur People's Protection Bill would not serve any purpose even if it is given presidential assent once the CAB 2016 is passed.
He also expressed keen desire for Rajya Sabha MPs K Bhabananda and Mary Kom to state their positions on the CAB 2016 .
