2 runaway boys cause abduction scare

A few weeks after a minor school boy from Ukhrul district escaped from the hands of unknown abductors, two runaway boys from Tolloi (Talui) village had caused an abduction scare before they were finally traced to a house in Ukhrul town on Sunday.
Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao, SI Ngaransing Vashum said that the two boys identified as MD Saheed alais Ngarumsang, 14, and Sororngam, 12, were located at a house in Viewland locality on Sunday after they left their homes in Talui village on 8 October without informing their parents.
"On inquiring the two boys disclosed that they left their homes in search of some manual works in Ukhrul town without informing their parents," he said.
An organized search had been conducted by both families and locals in an around the village since Thursday and on Sunday when their families located them, the two boys were already engaged in a construction work of Pettigrew College at Meizailung, SI Vashum said.
"While Sororngam was immediately taken home to Talui village by their parents, Saheed who happened to be from a broken family refused to return home," Vashum narrated before disclosing that seeing his condition, Saheed is temporarily lodged at Ukhrul Police Station.
Interacting with Hueiyen Lanpao at Ukhrul Police Station, Saheed said that he and his friend Sororngam left Talui village around 3 on 8 October on their own.
"Since it was late we halted at a farm at Ngaimu village that night and reached Ukhrul town the next day" .
Meanwhile, news of the reported missing of the two boys had caused a abduction scare in the entire district since the past few days.
Many among the public had even linked this incident with child trafficking network that had raised severe concerns in the district in recent years.
