Imphal, October 10 2018:
Paying highest revolutionary salute and honours to late Salimpou Pamei, captain of the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF), the outfit has extended its deepest condolence and sympathies to the bereaved wife and children and other family members of the deceased.
A press release issued by the information and publicity wing, ZUF mentioned that Salimpou Pamei s/o (L) Kadiatdai Pamei, and captain of ZUF hailed from Khoupum Thanagong village.
It continued that he was shot dead by NSCN (IM) cadres in front of his wife on October 7 at around 11.30 am while he was on leave and was attending his family's farm with his wife at Ragailong village, Khoupum.
It lamented that a huge number of cadres, former cadres and unarmed persons belonging to different Naga political groups such as NNC, FGN, NSCN (K), NSCN (R), NSCN (U), ZUF etc including civilians have been killed and uncountable innocent persons have suffered different degrees of torture at the hands of the NSCN (IM) in the name of Naga political issue and added that right from the day the NSCN (IM) was formed, countless Naga brothers and others have been mercilessly killed and such killing still continue.
Claiming that maximum restraint has been maintained by the ZUF to avoid bloodshed among the Zeliangrong brothers, it claimed that the terms and conditions of the Cease Fire Agreement executed between the Central Government and the NSCN (IM) is a mockery as the NSCN (IM) cadres have killed so many innocent Zeliangrongs in particular and Naga people in general with the full knowledge of the Central Government.
It added that it is the inescapable and collective responsibility of every sensible person to support and extend cooperation to ZUF to carry forward the Naga political issue which is based on clear political vision for the Zeliangrong people in particular and other like-minded people of the region in general.
